What we collect
WhatsNext has optional accounts. If you make one, we store your email address, a display name if you give one, and a securely hashed password. You never need an account to use the site. We do not build advertising profiles, send a newsletter, or use Google Analytics, PostHog, or another third-party analytics service. When you search or use discovery filters, we store the query or filter values, result count, and timestamp so we can understand which parts of the catalog need work.
Game feedback
When you tell us a pick was played, too obvious, or not for you, we save that answer so we can stop repeating games you know and make picks better. Without an account, the answer is tied to a random browser id, not to you. If you later make an account, your earlier answers from that browser join it. Your browser also keeps a local copy for one week so results improve during your visits, and it deletes that copy on its own.
Service providers
The site runs on Cloudflare infrastructure and uses Cloudflare D1 for the catalog and limited search telemetry. Your browser may also make requests to linked game stores when you choose to follow a link. Their privacy policies apply to those services.
Retention and choices
Search telemetry is kept for product and editorial maintenance. We do not use it to identify you. You can avoid submitting search terms and can contact us to ask about data associated with a query or your account, including deleting the account and its feedback. We may update this page when the product or its data practices change.
